The best part of the day was the spur of the moment decision to jump on the boat ride at Dwejra, at the inland sea there, and have a look at the cliffs and sea caves - just stunning!

First set of photos from Fes.
I was drawn to the skilled craftsmen working in the ceramics factory, and the gentleman making his way home from work with his donkey carrying his tools.

Some pics of Fes the city - and in the market.

Here a a couple of pics of the hotel. Yes I've been for a swim already and we've only been here an hour!

Malta Day Two - some pics I took when I went for my walk along the Bugibba Beachfront.c9f20640-6543-11ee-bd3f-65a8ef89f500.jpgc98d5100-6543-11ee-a3c5-e75ef9104203.jpgc8e1f5d0-6543-11ee-bb59-790d1bca25c1.jpgc8d65d10-6543-11ee-ae6a-3fe94ccad449.jpgc8ca2810-6543-11ee-a506-794f7f143273.jpg

Malta Day Three - a couple of pics I took when I went for my walk in the opposite direction - this time along St Paul's Bay.
Spent a couple of hours swimming in the sea and another couple sunning beside the hotel pool.
10/10 day today :-)

Another early start this morning, Sam and I were up at 5am to check out of our hotel by 5:45am. We booked our own taxi for the trip to the train station, and it was cheap - only €9.50. We were sooo early - our train wasn't due to leave until 7:10am, and the departure gates didn't open until 20 minutes prior to that. There was nothing particularly memorable about the train journey as there wasn't too much to see, but it was a good cheap way to get from San Sebastián to Barcelona - from memory the tickets were €50. There is a distinct lack of storage space on the train for large luggage items - a couple sitting behind us shuffled theirs around so ours could fit in. If they hadn't done that we would have been in a bit of a pickle!
The trip was 6 hours, so we got into Barcelona at 1:30pm. We're booked into the Hotel Gaudi and it's pretty good so far - the reception staff were very friendly and informative. It's really quirky, and right in the Gaudi quarter - so we're thinking we've nailed the location. More to come for Barcelona as we're here for three days...

Barcelona Day Two:
Today was the first day we didn't have a bus plane or train to catch, and we both slept in until 10! Bliss. We spent most of the day on a hop on hop off bus - it had two separate routes and we wanted to check them both out today and pick the spots we really wanted to check out more tomorrow. Walking home we purely by chase came across the La Boqueria Market - it's absolutely stunning - so glad we saw that one. We'll be going back tomorrow for sure!

I'm loving the architecture - particularly the Catalan Modernism works - so be ready for some more pics of that tomorrow :-)

Barcelona Day Three:
I had a great day today revisiting some of the historic buildings I'd seen yesterday - a couple of my favourites are the Sagrada Familia and the Casa Batiló.

I'm so glad we made the decision to come here - I love it!
We're staying at the Hotel San Sebastián Orly. The hotel staff are polite, smile and make an effort to help - such a change from our Madrid hotels that's for sure!
